Changes in Ylva’s Board of Directors

Kim Holmberg has been appointed as Ylva’s Chair of Board of Directors, starting on February 1, 2025. Holmberg serves currenlty as the head of the Helsinki office at the law firm Astrea, and is well acquainted with Ylva’s operations, having previously acted as an advisor on the company’s financing and real estate arrangements. The decision was made by the Board of the Student Union of the University of Helsinki (HYY) in its meeting on January 30, 2025.

Mika Heikkilä, who has served as Chair of the Board, will no longer continue in Ylva’s Board and will focus on his primary professional duties.

“On behalf of the entire Board, I would like to warmly thank Mika for his dedication and contributions to Ylva and wish him all the best in the future,” says Petra Pulli, Chair of HYY’s Board.

There will also be changes in the student representation on the Board. Emil Aarnio, a student of economics, has been appointed as a new student member. Aarnio previously served on Ylva’s Supervisory Board from 2023 to 2024 and is currently Vice Chair of HYY’s Board. His appointment will further strengthen cooperation between HYY’s Board and Ylva’s Board.

At the same time, the size of the Board will be reduced by two members. Moving forward, Ylva’s Board of Directors will consist of expert members Kim Holmberg (Chair), Erkka Valkila, Mari Tyster, and Hanna-Mari Manninen, as well as student members Emil Aarnio, Tuukka Kainulainen, Joonas Pulliainen, and Timo Kalliokoski.
