Domus Gaudium

Mechelininkatu 3, 00100 Helsinki

Domus Gaudium is located in Kamppi and was completed in 2008. Also known as the third student house, Domus Gaudium serves as a a meeting place for student organizations, providing club and office spaces. The building's role extends beyond student events, featuring facilities such as the rooftop sauna "Sivistys," lecture halls, offices, and spaces for student nations.

The new student house which is located at the corner of Mechelininkatu and Leppäsuonkatu was officially opened during the Helsinki University Student Union annual celebration. Designed by the architectural firm Brunow & Maunula, Domus Gaudium includes an underground link to the neighboring Domus Academica, which provides housing across two buildings.

Domus Gaudium was created in collaboration with the Helsinki School of Economics Support Foundation. Its Latin motto, "sub hoc tecto cives academici excoluntur," translates to "academic citizens are built under this roof."
