Eemeli Lehto appointed Ylva’s Financial Manager

Eemeli Lehto, M.Sc. (Econ.), has been appointed as Ylva’s Financial Manager and member of its Executive Team as of 15 May 2019. Lehto arrives to Ylva from Danske Bank where he has worked as Senior Manager in the Debt Capital Markets unit.

Eemeli Lehto supervises the economy team and is in charge of Ylva’s funding and financial management. Lehto has a solid, versatile background in funding, and with this new recruitment, Ylva is strengthening its Executive Team in a situation where new, large projects and developing operations are heightening the expectations around the group.

“Ylva has a fine history and growth story. I am particularly impressed with its successful business development in which responsibility and the aim to improve the city are not forgotten. As great projects progress, the time will come to arrange their funding and expand their funding base. For this reason, it is a wonderful challenge and opportunity to join the Ylva community in building Helsinki beyond tomorrow”, Lehto says.

Taking a large, over €150-million investment and change programme forward plays a decisive role in Ylva’s profitability in the future. As the Helsinki beyond tomorrow is to be built into a sustainable metropolis of education, future projects are at the core of Ylva’s vision. These projects include the Lyyra project that won Kallio’s office houses’ real estate competition and the historical hotel project Grand Hansa in central Helsinki.

“It is my pleasure to welcome Eemeli Lehto to Ylva’s Executive Team. As the amount of operation increases, funding- and economy-related skills will take on an increasingly important role in enabling new projects. The funding types for future projects will be determined later, but we will certainly go in a more diverse direction”, CEO Antti Kerppola states.

“Ylva placing increasing emphasis on promoting carbon neutrality in construction opens completely new opportunities; it would be interesting to bring funding solutions that would be unique from a responsibility angle onto the market in the near future” Kerppola continues hinting at new vistas.

Ylva’s activities are led by a vision of a flourishing Helsinki as an international, sustainable metropolis of science and education. We are a company owned by the Student Union of the University of Helsinki, and our profits help promote active student life. The results of our business activities enable current and future generations of students to develop our society.
